The place I am going to tell you about is Phuket, located in the south of Thailand. Because of its limpid seawater, relatively lower level of consumption, delicious seafood, and hospitable service, it has become one of the favorite spots for Chinese people to have a vacation. Many newlyweds also choose it to enjoy their honeymoon.

我要告诉你的地方是普吉岛，坐落于泰国。因为其清澈的海水，相对较低的消费水平，美味的海鲜，以及热情的服务，它是中国人最喜欢的度假地点之一。许多新婚夫妇也会选择那里来度蜜月。

I went there during the last national holiday. As a person who grew up in an inland city, I had always found the sea possessed a special attractiveness. So I spent most of the time on various water activities, this article is from Laokaoya website, like diving, swimming, and water skiing. I also tried to learn surfing. But it seemed beyond my capability. Despite the professional and patient teaching of the instructor, I just kept falling and sometimes even got choked by the bitter seawater.

我是在去年国庆节去的那里。作为一个在内陆城市长大的人，我一直觉得海洋有种独特的魅力。所以我将大部分时间都花在了各种各样的水上活动上，比如潜水、游泳等。我也尝试学习冲浪。但它似乎超出了我的能力。尽管教练专业而耐心的教导，我仍然不停的掉下来，有时甚至会被海水呛到。

The city presented two completely different images. On the one hand, it was a sleepless town. You could see numerous pubs crowded with tourists around the world, ceaseless ladyboy shows attracting a lot of curious individuals, and Thai boxing games held every day at night. On the other hand, it was also a peaceful one. There were local residents praying in front of the Buddha statue on the street regardless of people passing by and empty beaches that had not been commercialized.

该城市呈现出两种完全不同的形象。一方面，它是个不夜城。你可以看到大量的酒吧充满来自世界各地的游客，永不停歇的人妖表演吸引许多好奇的人，以及每天晚上都会进行的泰拳比赛。另一方面，它也是个平和的地方。  会有当地人会不顾路过的人群在街上的佛像前祈祷，也有尚未商业化的空荡荡的海滩。

I went to Phuket mainly because of my cousin’s recommendation. He had been there several years ago and kept talking about its beautiful sceneries and various entertainment, which aroused my interest.
