The first diagram shows the life cycle of the silkworm that divides into four periods. And the second illustrates the processing of cloth making in stages.

From the first diagram, initially, eggs are laid by the moth and it takes ten days for each egg to hatch out. Then the larva living on the mulberry leaves also live by the leaves. Subsequently, after utmost six weeks, the larva spins silk threads to form a cocoon. After a period of around a week, in the fourth stage the silk threads are rolled into a cocoon. Finally, ten days later, a moth emerges from the cocoon and the life cycle restarts once more.

From the second diagram，there are five main stages in the cloth making: selecting, boiling, unwinding, twisting and weaving（also dying included）. Once selected, sounded cocoons are heated in hot water until they start to unwind. The ideal condition is that the thread can be between 300 and 900 meters long, which shall be twisted together for the weaving and dying stages at last.
